Los d&iacute;as martes 27 y jueves 29 de noviembre, adem&aacute;s, se desarrollaron dos cine-debates, en base a documentales y pel&iacute;culas de temas relacionados al VIH en el Sal&oacute;n Milk de El Centro Comunitario de SOMOSGAY, que sirvieron tambi&eacute;n como muestra del contraste entre lo que significaba vivir con VIH en los inicios de la propagaci&oacute;n del virus y la forma de vida de una persona que vive con VIH en estos tiempos. El viernes 30 de noviembre, a partir de las 19hs en la explanada del Pante&oacute;n de los H&eacute;roes iluminado por completo de rojo, m&aacute;s de 50 participantes del evento, as&iacute; como tambi&eacute;n personas simpatizantes que transitaban por la calle Palma, se reunieron a fin de desarrollar un conversatorio p&uacute;blico sobre las tem&aacute;ticas m&aacute;s resaltantes de la semana de lucha contra el VIH. En el conversatorio, se cont&oacute; con la presencia de la Vice-Presidenta de la Junta Municipal de la Ciudad de Asunci&oacute;n, Karina Rodr&iacute;guez, Miguel Aguad de la Comunidad Homosexual del Paraguay (CHOPA) y Sim&oacute;n Cazal, Director Ejecutivo de SOMOSGAY. Durante el conversatorio, las y los panelistas presentes hicieron extenso el llamado de atenci&oacute;n a la ciudadan&iacute;a y al pueblo paraguayo, a fin de desmitificar el hecho de vivir con VIH. &ldquo;Mientras una persona est&eacute; viviendo con el virus en la comunidad, todos y todas vivimos con VIH. Es una responsabilidad de la comunidad el poner fin a la epidemia en nuestro pa&iacute;s, y eso demostrar&iacute;a una enorme muestra de solidaridad&rdquo;, explic&oacute; Sim&oacute;n Cazal en su ponencia. Adem&aacute;s, la concejala Karina Rodr&iacute;guez afirm&oacute; &ldquo;No se pueden negar la importancia y el rol elemental que tienen las pol&iacute;ticas p&uacute;blicas integrales con enfoque de derechos humanos para reducir los casos de infecci&oacute;n en Paraguay. Es por eso que exigimos m&aacute;s legislaciones que promuevan buenas pr&aacute;cticas para todos y todas&rdquo;. Adem&aacute;s, Karina felicit&oacute; la iniciativa incansable de SOMOSGAY en pos del avance de los derechos humanos de las personas LGBT en Paraguay. En la ma&ntilde;ana del s&aacute;bado 1&ordm; de diciembre, SOMOSGAY particip&oacute; de la feria del D&iacute;a Mundial de Lucha contra el VIH sobre la Calle Palma. Durante la feria, se distribuyeron materiales informativos acerca de la prevenci&oacute;n, atenci&oacute;n y tratamiento del VIH, adem&aacute;s de condones y lubricantes. Por la noche, a partir de las 22hs, en EL CENTRO SOMOSGAY, se mantuvieron peque&ntilde;as charlas grupales informativas acerca del uso correcto del cond&oacute;n y derechos humanos, a fin de poner a disposici&oacute;n herramientas de aprendizaje para las y los voluntarios y usuarios del centro comunitario. Cont&iacute;nuamente, se distribuyeron entradas gratuitas a las y los participantes de las charlas para la fiesta &ldquo;HOT BOXER&rdquo;, organizada conjuntamente con la discoteca HOLLYWOOD DANCE de Asunci&oacute;n, en donde activistas y educadores populares de SOMOSGAY ense&ntilde;aban, acompa&ntilde;ados de bailarines y gogo dancers, las t&eacute;cnicas de uso correcto del cond&oacute;n a fin de realizar acciones de prevenci&oacute;n basada en el entretenimiento. Desde 1988, se celebra en todo el mundo el 1&ordm; de Diciembre el D&iacute;a Mundial de Lucha contra el VIH. En Paraguay, SOMOSGAY se sum&oacute; as&iacute; a la Campa&ntilde;a Mundial denominada &ldquo;WAD&rdquo; (por sus siglas en ingl&eacute;s &ldquo;WORLD AIDS DAY&rdquo;), con el objetivo principal de llamar la atenci&oacute;n nacional sobre los derechos humanos de las personas que viven con el VIH y las poblaciones m&aacute;s vulnerables a &eacute;ste, siendo los varones gays una de las m&aacute;s afectadas por el VIH en nuestro pa&iacute;s y en toda la regi&oacute;n latinoamericana. At the World Conference 2012 , held in Washington , have shown us that a world without HIV is possible if as a society we will: 1. Extender and accessible treatment to all who need it , 2. Making prevention is an integral part of health policy , employment and education 3. Extend the use of condoms and lubricants, accompanied by adequate information to different audiences and 4. Promote policies of equality, human rights and full inclusion to banish homophobia and discrimination in our culture. There are an estimated 33 million people living with HIV worldwide , about 20,000 of them live in Paraguay . So today more than ever , we call rekindle the spark of solidarity and understand that while one of us or live with HIV , ALL live with HIV and it is our responsibility to respond to this epidemic as a community united in solidarity. We also call to promote further claim full citizenship , full respect for human rights in a society that allows us all and keep us all healthy and happy . Desde la aparici&oacute;n del VIH hace m&aacute;s de 30 a&ntilde;os, nuestras comunidades han sido las pioneras en darle respuesta, en enfrentar a un virus desconocido y forzar a nuestros gobiernos a tomar responsabilidad en garantizar el derecho a la salud. Hemos ganado mucho; tenemos tratamiento contra el virus, conocemos sus v&iacute;as de trasmisi&oacute;n, sabemos como prevenir nuevas infecciones y como mantenernos saludables cuando vivimos con &eacute;l en nuestros cuerpos. En la conferencia mundial 2012, realizada en Washington, nos han mostrado que un mundo sin VIH es posible si como sociedad nos comprometemos a: 1. Extender y hacer accesible el tratamiento a todas las personas que lo necesiten; 2. Lograr que la prevenci&oacute;n sea parte integral de las pol&iacute;ticas de salud, empleo y educaci&oacute;n; 3. Extender el uso de preservativos y lubricantes, acompa&ntilde;ados de informaci&oacute;n adecuada a distintos p&uacute;blicos y 4. Impulsar pol&iacute;ticas de igualdad, derechos humanos y plena inclusi&oacute;n que destierren a la homofobia y la discriminaci&oacute;n de nuestra cultura. Se estima que en el mundo existen 33 millones de personas viviendo con VIH, aproximadamente 20 mil de ellas vivimos en Paraguay. Por eso, hoy m&aacute;s que nunca, llamamos a reavivar la chispa de la solidaridad y entender que mientras uno o una de nosotros viva con VIH, TODOS vivimos con VIH y es nuestra responsabilidad responder a esta epidemia como comunidad unida en solidaridad. Llamamos tambi&eacute;n a impulsar con m&aacute;s fuerza el reclamo de plena ciudadan&iacute;a, de plena vigencia de los derechos humanos en una sociedad que nos permita a todos y todas mantenernos saludables y felices. El principal monumento de la ciudad de Asunci&oacute;n, el Pante&oacute;n Nacional de los H&eacute;roes se ilumina de rojo a lo largo de esta semana como s&iacute;mbolo de la solidaridad que nos une en esta causa y recordando a las y los compa&ntilde;eros que hemos perdido en el camino andado. En la semana adem&aacute;s se distribuyen condones, lubricantes, materiales informativos y se ofrecen Test r&aacute;pido de VIH para toda la poblaci&oacute;n en diferentes puntos de Asunci&oacute;n y alrededores. El viernes 30 de diciembre, a las 18hs, se realiza un acto central frente al Pante&oacute;n Nacional de los H&eacute;roes con activistas y l&iacute;deres de varias organizaciones que trabajan a favor de los derechos humanos en nuestros pa&iacute;s. This initiative SOMOSGAY establish a community clinic specializing in health and wellness of men. The doors of this clinic was opened in 2013 in downtown Asuncion . Besides this project , the initiative provides further expand the voluntary testing and access to anti-HIV treatment in Paraguay through specific campaigns aimed at the entire population. The clinic will provide care SOMOSGAY health specialists free man . This innovative health service is expected to be easily implemented across the country as part of the expansion strategy SOMOSGAY in Paraguay . The AIDS Healthcare Foundation ( AHF) was founded in Los Angeles , California where they are headquartered . AHF is currently the non-profit civil organization working in prevention, care and advocacy on HIV / AIDS in the world 's largest , assisting more than 183,000 people with HIV through medical care, develop and support projects in 28 countries, including in the case of Latin America : Mexico , Guatemala , Ecuador and from this year also to Argentina , Peru and Mexico.
