Since 1988, celebrated around the world on 1 December, the World Day to Combat HIV. In Paraguay , SOMOSGAY thus joined the global campaign called " WAD " (for its acronym in English " WORLD AIDS DAY" ) , with the main objective to draw national attention to the human rights of people living with HIV and the populations most vulnerable to it , gay men being one of the most affected by HIV in our country and throughout Latin America. During the week of Monday, 26 November to 1 December , at the request of SOMOSGAY , the National Pantheon of Heroes remained lit red , with the purpose of raising awareness of the epidemic , honor those who are no longer are from the virus , they focus on issues that are fundamental to a successful and effective response , and inspire positive action to give a full HIV epidemic in our country national response.
