On the morning of Tuesday, November 18th, Simon Cazal, accompanied by SOMOSGAY’s Health Area Manager and the Community Liaison team, participated in an audience with the Governor of the Central Department, Mr. Blas Lanzoni and Departmental Councillor, Ms. Silvia Mendieta, to present the experiences and results achieved through the activities of HIV testings, made by the Men’s Wellness Center “Kuimba'e”.
On the morning of Tuesday, November 18th, Simon Cazal, accompanied by SOMOSGAY’s Health Area Manager and the Community Liaison team, participated in an audience with the Governor of the Central Department, Mr. Blas Lanzoni and Departmental Councillor, Ms. Silvia Mendieta, to present the experiences and results achieved through the activities of HIV testings, made by the Men’s Wellness Center “Kuimba'e”.
With this meeting, we start this joint effort to expand many services offered by the Kuimba'e Clinic, with support of this Government institution, in addition to conducting trainings on Human Rights for health workers of this region, aiming at improving the services offered throughout the Central Department.
The Kuimba'e clinic is the first community clinic for wellness and comprehensive care on HIV in Paraguay. The main purpose of the clinic is to attract men who are not always allowed to access healthcare services, especially those related to sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, with support of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
