The organization was founded on May 23rd, it was finally accepted as an x in the Registry of Legal Persons and Associations in the Judiciary of Paraguay. The writing that includes the charter of incorporation and the association bylaws registered by number 123 on sheet 1248 with the date as of July 23rd of 2009.


Giving rise therefore to the new legal person in the public utility. This legal persons have, for the institution's purposes, the same capacity in terms of rights and physical persons to acquire goods or take obligations, through the organs established by its charters. Within these limits they may pursue civil or criminal contempt and respond to the ones that are embarked against them.

The organization was registered in the Taxpayers Registry, that enabled the organic ion to develop their activities under protection of the law. It is under this process that SOMOSGAY will be able to demonstrate a more transparent economical management.

The formalization of SOMOSGAY opens the doors in order to keep moving forwards to the recognition of equality for LGBT people. The organization celebrates this important step by thanking the trust given to it by the several people that support and accompany it.

This register offers the legal frameworks that is necessary to the management of the institution in terms of resources that aid to its mission. Therefore, it is a very important accomplishment to the youngster members. With its 41 founding members SOMOSGAY is established as an example of communitary entity committed to its social bases.

The coming activities by the organization are focused on its youth character, paying close attention to September as the youth month in Paraguay. In that month, the different teams in SOMOSGAY are preparing several activities, including some within the campaign Paraguay Goodbye Homophobia, the training of Leaders of Change and the implementation of seminars with the support of private entities and others.

This is how SOMOSGAY, true to its roots, strengthened its commitment in the advance if human rights in Paraguay, and it's mission of a country free of homophobia, sexism and discrimination.
