During the first day of the conference , the first members of the organization and the directory shared the early history and development of SOMOSGAY counting experiences, obstacles and actions that lived along the early life of the organization. Then the members who have joined the organization more recently shared their experiences about the process that they lived to be part of the organization. Thus, the picture lived since the creation of the organization until today, leaving even more clear that the goals and objectives were achieved step by step over the years reflected.
That same day, working groups were formed and evaluated each of the axes and strategic objectives, which are a priority for the actions of the work done at SOMOSGAY. They are: comprehensive LGBT Health; Civil Rights LGBT Population, Education, Culture and Recreation, Programs and Sociocultural Spaces for LGBT people; Employment and Labor Rights Defense, Mobilization and Citizen Participation and Institutional Strengthening.

From activities undertaken each year as the International Condom Day, the Kiss-In, the Equality Parade and the International Day in Response to HIV and other framed within different projects and programs implemented by the organization.
Strategic planning is the process of developing and implementing plans to achieve goals or purposes. SOMOSGAY began its institutional life on May 23, 2009, with its Founding Assembly, continuing a wider project organization that began in 2005. Marking a milestone in the call, gathering 42 people who sign as founding members of the organization, thereafter being the largest LGBT organization ever increasing number of associates. The institutional life of the organization is marked by the high impact of the actions developed. Much of this is due to good strategic planning and transparency of their actions, incorporated as institutional principle.
