Professionals and volunteers of the Kuimba'e Clinic with Community Agents of Human Rights and Health; perform rapid and free testings of HIV and syphilis in the Regional Hospitals of Luque, Capiatá, Lambaré, Barrio Obrero, the Mother and Child Hospitals of Fernando de la Mora, San Pablo, Itaugua and elsewhere, with the aim to promote the correct use of condoms, lubricants and timely and early detection of HIV.
Professionals and volunteers of the Kuimba'e Clinic with Community Agents of Human Rights and Health; perform rapid and free testings of HIV and syphilis in the Regional Hospitals of Luque, Capiatá, Lambaré, Barrio Obrero, the Mother and Child Hospitals of Fernando de la Mora, San Pablo, Itaugua and elsewhere, with the aim to promote the correct use of condoms, lubricants and timely and early detection of HIV. There have been over 1,000 testings and distributed over 3,000 informational materials during January and February of 2014.
In addition to hospitals, this activity will continue to take place in different areas of Asunción, Gran Asunción and bikeways and fairs, markets and the markets like Mercado 4, Mercado de San Lorenzo and the Mercado de Abasto, well known Campuses from several universities and Regional Hospitals. Condoms, lubricants and health materials will be distributed to provide more information to the people who come to have the test done.
This initiative is a collaboration of AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation) and the Kuimba'e Clinic with the objectives of making visible the importance of condom use to prevent HIV and STIs, highlighting the importance of the country to promote comprehensive health of all people, in a friendly environment free from discrimination.
Hence, SOMOSGAY, with the support of the Community Agents, trained to promote adequate and timely information on health and human rights in their communities, and with the support of professionals of the Kuimba'e Clinic seek to achieve a society where the health, welfare and human rights are recognized and guaranteed for all.
