On the night of Saturday 6 July certificates were given to the new Community Agents on Human Rights and Health. In the words of Sergio López, director to the Organization SOMOSGAY and Adolfo Ruiz, Coordinator of Community Agents Program with an entertaining toast. Also present was Leopoldo Sánchez, a teacher, who was responsible for conducting several of the workshops.
The members of this first class of Community Agents are Alexander Villalba-Cahuaya, Cecilia Denis, Rosa Gomez Araujo, Francisco Alcaraz, Denes Flores, Victor Penayo, Valerio Olguin Carvallo and Sofia Gamarra.
In addition to the delivery of certificates, the new plate of the SOMOSGAY Community Center was presented with an emotional address by Simon Cazal, founder of the Organization.
Community Agents is an innovative program developed by SOMOSGAY thanks to the European Union (EU) and the Fundacion Triangulo, that aims to train leaders, so that they are upright propagators of innovative new paradigms in health and human rights. Community Agents are people trained in order to take their life, family and neighborhood a different health perspective, recognition of the problems and how to deal with them, raise awareness of sexual health and human rights.
The Community Agents team is aimed at all those who wish to participate in actions in favor of human rights in their communities , and the next edition will be held in the month of September.
