The Team of the Summer Guardians, made up of the Kuimba'e Clinic's Specialists and Community Agents specialized in Human Rights and Health, will be providing informational materials, sharing interesting sex tips and giving away free condoms and lubricants. In addition, they will be taking instant HIV tests for free, which are voluntary and confidential, with results ready in just 5 minutes.
These activities will be carried out in different areas of the country, such as the Costaneras of Asunci&oacute;n and Encarnaci&oacute;n, the City of Villarrica, the bike path of &Ntilde;u Guazu, the busiest markets like Mercado 4, Mercado de San Lorenzo and the Mercado de Abasto, well known Campuses from several universities and Regional Hospitals.
The Summer Guardians are part of a larger campaign called "Love CONDOM - LOVE PARAGUAY" which SOMOSGAY developed with the support of the AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation), which implements novel effective strategies to respond to HIV in the country sharing information, making awareness campaigns, lectures, materials, condoms, lubricants and more.
The campaign aims to draw attention towards the correct use of condoms to prevent HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, timely, to highlight the importance in the country to promote the overall health of all people in a friendly environment free of discrimination.
The Guardians of the Summer will be accompanied by a team of specialized counselors, focused on helping to make decisions that achieve full sexual health, overcoming social and structural barriers to our fulfillment as individuals.
Young people must be able to enjoy their sexuality by understanding and evaluating the responsibilities and risks involved in the full exercise of their sexuality. Furthermore, to achieve and maintain sexual health, it is important to respect and protect the sexual rights of all people. Sexual rights are part of human rights of all individuals. These rights relate to the respect for the physical integrity of the human body, the right to information and sexual health services, and the right to make decisions about our own sexuality.

With a strong police custody on Wednesday, 5 February, protesters and members of the Organization SOMOSGAY and LESVOS, dressed in red, gathered in front of the Russian Embassy (Molas L&oacute;pez Av. 689 and San Martin) and raised their voices in protest of the so-called "anti-gay law" in force in Russia and to support LGBT people in Russia.
All Out, the global movement for love and equality announced this initiative and organized the Global mobilization in support of LGBT people in Russia and called to Olympic sponsors, urging them to speak out against homophobic Russian laws that violate the spirit of Principle 6 of the Olympic Charter: non-discrimination. Rallies were held around the world, including St. Petersburg and Sochi (Russia), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), London (UK), Asuncion (Paraguay) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). On September 3rd, SOMOSGAY also participated in the first Global Mobilization by Russia in Asunci&oacute;n, which was held simultaneously in over 34 cities in 21 countries.
All Out and Athlete Ally, a non-profit organization that seeks to end homophobia and transphobia in sport, jointly launched the Principle 6 campaign, inspired by the values of the Olympic Charter, to give athletes, sponsors and supporters around the world an opportunity to celebrate the Olympic principle of non-discrimination and to call to an end to the homophobic laws in Russia before the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014.
Principle 6 of the Olympic Charter states that "any sort of discrimination is incompatible with the Olympic movement." The Principle 6 campaign allows athletes and Olympic sponsors to denounce homophobic violence which is rampant in Russia today, respecting the rules of the Committee to prohibit political speech and avoiding any penalties in the body.
This campaign is inspired by the values of the Olympic Charter, is a way for athletes, spectators and global sponsors to celebrate the Olympic principle of non-discrimination and to speak against anti-gay laws in Russia before the Olympic Games Winter 2014 in Sochi.
In Russia, a person can be fined or arrested for speaking publicly about being gay, lesbian, bi or trans. The Principle 6 campaign uses the language of the Olympic Charter for athletes and fans to speak out against this discrimination during the Games in Sochi without violating Russian anti-gay laws or violating the Olympic ban on political speech.
From Paraguay, SOMOSGAY supports and is part of these initiatives that repudiate homophobia and violence against LGBT people in Russia and around the world, with a commitment to fight for a just, equal, free and decent society for everyone.

The summer edition of the Paraguayan LGBT "Equis Magazine" was launched. This edition provides information to bring an increasingly richer magazine in terms of the topics of the community. It includes an abundant global information on the ever growing acceptance of gay marriage.
Interviews with two national referents that are highly respected and admired, each one in his area, were also added: One on journalism with Luis Bareiro and the other on graffiti in the streets with Montan&iacute;a Oz.
"In our country spaces for discussion are opening. It will not be fast, but the change will be given, I think that perseverance is the key. Marriage is a civil union that generates a series of rights and obligations for people who choose to enter the union, which is a legal concept, then why are there people or sectors which do not qualify for benefits and even assume the responsibilities that marriage entails as legal? Different religions may have their position, but the state can not have this discrimination, it is unconstitutional," said the renowned journalist in the interview given to the editors.
Then Oz Montan&iacute;a who at the age of 17 started drawing comics and among other things has participated in the Youth Arts Policy Forum, commented on the intervention made in the LGBT Community Center called "Graffities for Equality." "It was a totally enriching experience, I am friends with several of the boys and girls of the center but there were several aspects of the fight for equality for LGBT rights I was not are of and by being in constant touch with all for weeks made me appreciate more clearly all activities aimed at social change. I am impressed by the commitment, dedication, good humor and clarity of thought of many people with whom I interacted. Personally for me it was a long journey since I was raised in a Christian family, and the process of stripping away from prejudice, ideas imposed, lies, etc was something that started when I was 17, and is still goin on,"said the urban artist.
The Love Condom - Love Paraguay Campaign continues with renewed success and recently the Campaign Human Paraguay was launched, which transcended an excellent presentation that was shared even in the Congress.
This edition also includes the recommendations of Jorge Puig, to enjoy a better cinema for the community and the always fun comic by Illustrator Leda Sostoa.

In March 2014, the organization SOMOSGAY start training new volunteers with a series of workshops called "Community Agents" based on a comprehensive program of activists of the organization. This exciting program is divided into modules with a theoretical introduction to the topic, group work techniques and materials and other sources of research. The course is free and certified.
This course is developed for the third time in our country in order to emphasize the importance of education in everyday life, with the prospect of realizing the universality of human rights, and is aimed at young people and students of secondary and tertiary levels.
The training modules focus on Human Rights Education through the dimensions of knowledge transfer, skills development and attitude formation, allowing the creation of awareness of our common ground regarding the protection of human dignity. "Today we find ourselves in Paraguay at a &nbsp;key context, where more than 60% of the population is under 30 years old, which means that the chance of exploitation of the young component accentuated in the country in response to the various problems," says Adolfo Ruiz, program coordinator of Community Agents.
Community Agents, is an innovative program that seeks to train leaders , so that they are upright propagators of new paradigms in health and human rights. This program has the main support of the European Union and the Fundacion Triangulo. The European Union is an organization active in all political fronts , which promotes human rights inside and around the world. Human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and respect for human rights are fundamental values. The Fundacion Triangulo is a nonprofit organization whose goal is social equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, that all people are treated equally regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Professionals and volunteers of the Kuimba'e Clinic with Community Agents of Human Rights and Health; perform rapid and free testings of HIV and syphilis in the Regional Hospitals of Luque, Capiat&aacute;, Lambar&eacute;, Barrio Obrero, the Mother and Child Hospitals of Fernando de la Mora, San Pablo, Itaugua and elsewhere, with the aim to promote the correct use of condoms, lubricants and timely and early detection of HIV. There have been over 1,000 testings and distributed over 3,000 informational materials during January and February of 2014. In addition to hospitals, this activity will continue to take place in different areas of Asunci&oacute;n, Gran Asunci&oacute;n and bikeways and fairs, markets and the markets like Mercado 4, Mercado de San Lorenzo and the Mercado de Abasto, well known Campuses from several universities and Regional Hospitals. Condoms, lubricants and health materials will be distributed to provide more information to the people who come to have the test done. This initiative is a collaboration of AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation) and the Kuimba'e Clinic with the objectives of making visible the importance of condom use to prevent HIV and STIs, highlighting the importance of the country to promote comprehensive health of all people, in a friendly environment free from discrimination.
