SOMOSGAY and the MSMGF celebrate big scientific advances in HIV treatment

The Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF) congratulated the World Health Organization (WHO) for the publication of new guidelines on the immediate antiretroviral treatment (ART) for newly diagnosed people and for promoting the availability of PrEP (Pre-exposure profilaxis) to all people at considerable risk to HIV. The updated guidelines are aligned with the best available scientific evidence and the needs of communities.

GayLatino: Activists and gay Leaders meet in Curitiba

From December 18 to 20, more than 50 gay leaders from across Latin America will meet in Curitiba, Brazil, for the Regional Meeting Gay Latino, in order to identify the problems of gay men and bisexual Latino related to health, public policy, homophobia and institutional violence in general, defining advocacy strategies to move towards full equality of rights and improve the regional response to HIV in these communities.

Innovative fast and free HIV testing campaign in Paraguayan health services was launched

On the morning of Monday, November 2, the "National HIV Testing Campaign in Paraguay” was launched at the headquarters of the LGBT Community Center. Dr. Tania Samudio, Director of PRONASIDA and Dra. Gladys López, Director of the Laboratory of PRONASIDA, assisted along with Simon Cazal, Executive Director of SOMOSGAY. They presented the details and actions that will be taken along the national campaign.

On Monday November 16, the 34th Meeting of the Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Geneva was developed, with many challenges and work ahead. Amid the sadness due to the attacks in these days in Beirut, Paris and other cities, representatives from various sectors around the world come together with a commitment to support the work of the Fund in the task of ending the three main pandemics of humanity.
