Las efem&eacute;rides nos dicen que un 24 de febrero de 1867 las mujeres asuncenas decidieron regalar sus joyas para contribuir al financiamiento contra la Triple Alianza. La historia paraguaya tiene m&aacute;s que lagunas en lo que a las mujeres respecta, posee casi oc&eacute;anos. ya que fue contada desde el lado de los hombres heterosexuales. En esa narrativa las mujeres no hemos sido sino agentes secundarios o auxiliares salvo algunas que otras figuras cuyos protagonismos hemos logrado preservar para destacar.
&nbsp;
Por supuesto, la sexualidad de las mujeres paraguayas qued&oacute; siempre omitida al imponerse la &uacute;nica funcionalidad de procrear y servir al hombre; as&iacute;, si de por s&iacute; es dif&iacute;cil contar la historia de las mujeres paraguayas, m&aacute;s dif&iacute;cil a&uacute;n es abordar la de las paraguayas lesbianas, bisexuales y trans. Estudiar y rescatar tales legados es una gran tarea pendiente de todos y todas.
<h4 style="text-align: justify;"></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">Un d&iacute;a diferente para la mujer paraguaya</h4>
Aqu&iacute;, con motivo de la fecha, conversamos con M&oacute;nica Encina, directora de <a href="https://www.facebook.com/LESVOSorg/" target="_blank">LESVOS</a>, organizaci&oacute;n para la articulaci&oacute;n social de las mujeres lesbianas, acerca de c&oacute;mo podemos abordar de una manera distinta esta fecha.
&nbsp;
Necesitamos una mirada que supere el mito del sacrificio, sumisi&oacute;n y heteronormatividad para as&iacute; vislumbrar la diversidad, empoderar a las mujeres para hacer frente a la violencia y conquistar una sociedad libre de discriminaci&oacute;n.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;C&oacute;mo podemos recordar este d&iacute;a desde la perspectiva de las mujeres no heteronormadas (lesbianas, bisexuales, trans, etc)?</h4>
Nosotras como LESVOS recordamos siempre a la mujer paraguaya como luchadora; en Paraguay las mujeres d&iacute;a a d&iacute;a incansablemente luchamos por nuestros derechos. Creemos que somos protagonistas de la historia desde nuestros lugares de trabajo, nuestras casas, escuelas, colegios e universidades.
&nbsp;
Las mujeres lesbianas tambi&eacute;n luchamos por nuestros derechos y por la igualdad y trabajamos por una sociedad m&aacute;s plural y respetuosa. Aspiramos a la eliminaci&oacute;n total de cualquier discriminaci&oacute;n y la erradicaci&oacute;n del machismo en nuestro pa&iacute;s.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;Cu&aacute;l es la deuda del Estado paraguayo para con las mujeres en general y las mujeres no heteronormadas en espec&iacute;fico?</h4>
El Estado paraguayo b&aacute;sicamente se mostr&oacute; y se muestra ausente en cuestiones de g&eacute;nero, pero no por esto debemos dejar de lado el gran avance que se dio con la presentaci&oacute;n del proyecto de ley de protecci&oacute;n integral de las mujeres contra toda forma de violencia de la diputada Roc&iacute;o Casco, la Ley Por Ellas, que adem&aacute;s de interpelar a todo el congreso nacional, incentiv&oacute; al debate y empoderamiento de las mujeres paraguayas, incluyendo a las personas LGBT.
&nbsp;
LESVOS forma parte del grupo de activistas #PORELLAS y celebramos la promulgaci&oacute;n de la Ley. Nosotras seguiremos trabajando en el avance de los derechos de las mujeres lesbianas, bisexuales y trans.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;C&oacute;mo han vivido las mujeres paraguayas lesbianas, bisexuales y trans a lo largo de la historia?</h4>
Invisibilizadas, sin espacio y con bastante discriminaci&oacute;n bajo una sociedad machista que las reprime imponiendo estereotipos de c&oacute;mo desarrollarse como persona y poder as&iacute; "encajar" dentro de la misma.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;C&oacute;mo afecta la epidemia de feminicidios y violencia de g&eacute;nero a las mujeres lesbianas, bisexuales y trans?</h4>
La violencia es estructural y patriarcal, por ende nos afecta a todas las mujeres, pero en distintos grados y medidas. &nbsp; Existe una cultura que mantiene muchas situaciones de violencia en la m&aacute;s absoluta naturalidad y obviamente las lesbianas, bisexualesy trans, al ser vistas por la sociedad como "anormales" y al no gozar de los mismos derechos que el resto, est&aacute;n m&aacute;s vulnerables a vivir situaciones de violencia y callar, por miedo a ser doblemente discriminadas. &nbsp; Imaginate que si una ni&ntilde;a violada es tratada de forma violenta por la sociedad al obligarla a parir un hijo, &iquest;que pasa con las mujeres adultas lesbianas, trans o bisexuales?.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;Contamos con algunas figuras de mujeres lesbianas, bisexuales y trans que hayan resaltado con aportes en nuestra historia y que puedan ser referentes?</h4>
Recordamos a Serafina D&aacute;valos, una mujer feminista que en su momento cumpli&oacute; un papel importante en la defensa de los derechos de la mujer y la igualdad; hasta hoy su lucha sigue vigente en nuestros discursos y nuestros actos.
&nbsp;
Serafina dijo: "Si queremos construir un pa&iacute;s verdaderamente democr&aacute;tico en que la libertad, la justicia y la igualdad sean hermosas realidades, debemos empezar por organizar el hogar sobre la base de una perfecta igualdad".
&nbsp;
Nuestra historia tiene muchas mujeres referentes que han marcado no s&oacute;lo el rumbo de sus tiempos, sino que han trascendido sus propias vidas para ser inspiraci&oacute;n en todas las luchas hacia una sociedad mejor para todas.
&nbsp;
Creo que adem&aacute;s de Serafina Dav&aacute;los, Soledad Barrett nos ha heredado no s&oacute;lo la inspiraci&oacute;n sino tambi&eacute;n la responsabilidad de luchar contra las opresiones y buscar una utop&iacute;a liberadora aqu&iacute;, en Paraguay, el lugar del mundo que tantas mujeres admirables eligieron.

Al examinar informaci&oacute;n verificada y estudios desmontamos mitos que lejos de combatir un flagelo, crean m&aacute;s estigma, dolor y discriminaci&oacute;n. De acuerdo a <a href="https://www.unicef.org/argentina/spanish/proteccion-AbusoSexual_contra_NNyA-2016.pdf" target="_blank">datos</a> de la UNICEF, &ldquo;las estad&iacute;sticas indican que la mayor&iacute;a de los abusadores son varones heterosexuales adaptados socialmente&rdquo;, si bien los agresores no poseen un perfil de personalidad espec&iacute;fico o enfermedad mental determinada. El mismo organismo en otro <a href="https://www.unicef.org/uruguay/spanish/Abuso_sexual_infantil_digital.pdf" target="_blank">documento</a> se&ntilde;ala que &ldquo;el mayor n&uacute;mero de abusos sexuales es cometido por personas de la familia de la v&iacute;ctima, en especial padres, padrastros y parejas de la madre&rdquo;.
&nbsp;
Desde SOMOSGAY conversamos con el Mag. Ariel Gonz&aacute;lez, psic&oacute;logo cl&iacute;nico, docente universitario y especialista en educaci&oacute;n sexual y sexolog&iacute;a cl&iacute;nica con masterado en salud sexual.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;Cu&aacute;l es el perfil de un abusador sexual?</h4>
Establecer un perfil es el deseo de cualquier persona que se interese en prevenir los abusos sexuales; sin embargo, el consenso profesional es que no existe un perfil &uacute;nico de un abusador sexual; es decir, puede ser cualquier persona. S&iacute; estad&iacute;sticamente se sabe que los abusadores son en general personas allegadas a sus v&iacute;ctimas: como por ejemplo familiares y vecinos; inclusive, existen abundantes datos que muchos abusos sexuales ocurren en el seno del hogar o incluso dentro de grupos religiosos; espacios en donde en teor&iacute;a se podr&iacute;a asumir que el ni&ntilde;o, la ni&ntilde;a o el adolescente se encuentra con mayor nivel de seguridad.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;La orientaci&oacute;n sexual influye en el perfil de un abusador sexual? &iquest;Por qu&eacute;?</h4>
No. No existe estudio cient&iacute;fico alguno aplicado en diferentes poblaciones y culturas que determine correlaci&oacute;n o significancia estad&iacute;stica relevante de que la orientaci&oacute;n sexual est&eacute; vinculada con mayor o menor influencia en el perfil de un abusador o abusadora sexual. Como descrito anteriormente, puede ser cualquier persona; sin embargo, s&iacute; se calcula estad&iacute;sticamente que al menos el 10% de la poblaci&oacute;n mundial es de orientaci&oacute;n diferente a la heterosexual (homosexual, bisexual, asexual, etc) por lo que se podr&iacute;a inferir que la mayor&iacute;a de las personas que cometieron abusos sexuales no ser&iacute;a de orientaci&oacute;n diferente a la heterosexual.
&nbsp;
Por otro lado, tambi&eacute;n se debe mencionar que no todas las personas abusadoras sexuales son reportadas y no todas las v&iacute;ctimas de abuso sexual denuncia el hecho; as&iacute; que las propias estad&iacute;sticas sobre abuso sexual estar&iacute;an en error al describir la realidad imperante.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;Por qu&eacute; persiste la falsa creencia que ahora est&aacute; queriendo rebrotar, de que las personas LGBT son abusadoras potenciales? &iquest;C&oacute;mo hacer frente a tal mito con informaci&oacute;n certera y verificable?</h4>
Por homofobia, por ignorancia, por fundamentalismos y por miedo a lo diferente; existen posturas tanto sociol&oacute;gicas, antropol&oacute;gicas y psicol&oacute;gicas de que el ser humano necesita de patrones pre-establecidos para "funcionar sanamente".
&nbsp;
Nuestra cultura paraguaya es heredera de a&ntilde;os de dictadura, de bajo nivel educativo y de machismo extremo; un ejemplo com&uacute;n de un patr&oacute;n pre-establecido en Paraguay es creer que determinada mujer de campo se embaraz&oacute; del "pombero" porque "ella le busc&oacute;"; actualmente cualquier persona con cierta formaci&oacute;n sabe que el pombero es un mito, que las mujeres son violentadas y hasta asesinadas casi de manera com&uacute;n en nuestro pa&iacute;s y que dif&iacute;cilmente se desarrolle un embarazo sin la presencia de dos personas humanas; pero en este 2017, a&uacute;n existen personas que defienden la veracidad de estos sucesos.
&nbsp;
<cite class="simple">De igual manera, muchos paraguayos usan al colectivo LGBT por su propia homofobia, por su ignorancia, por su fundamentalismo y por su miedo a lo diferente para incriminarlas, sin base cient&iacute;fica alguna, de que son abusadores potenciales; cualquier persona formada, con cierta autoconciencia sexual y m&aacute;s a&uacute;n para cualquier especialista en sexolog&iacute;a, sabe que esto es una falacia.</cite>
&nbsp;
Considero que para hacer frente, se deben realizar intervenciones en diferentes niveles, es algo tan complejo, pero lo ejemplifico as&iacute;: gobiernos con perspectiva de derechos sexuales que satisfagan las necesidades b&aacute;sicas de las personas, espacios y tiempos para hablar sobre salud sexual, personas l&iacute;deres de diferentes &aacute;reas (activistas, profesionales, pol&iacute;ticos, etc) que promuevan y defiendan informaci&oacute;n sobre prevenci&oacute;n del abuso sexual, medios de comunicaci&oacute;n sensibles a la tem&aacute;tica y finalmente, individuos que asuman que algunos patrones culturales pre-establecidos nos afectan a todos de manera negativa, directa e indirectamente.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;C&oacute;mo identificar a un ni&ntilde;o o adolescente que haya padecido abuso sexual?</h4>
Se conocen diferentes indicadores de abuso sexual en ni&ntilde;os, ni&ntilde;as y adolescentes; y antes de citarlos es importante resaltar que la existencia de uno o algunos indicadores no necesariamente representa certeza de que se est&aacute; ante una v&iacute;ctima de abuso sexual.
&nbsp; Los indicadores m&aacute;s conocidos son: cambios repentinos en la conducta alimenticia, dificultad para conciliar el sue&ntilde;o, presentarse distra&iacute;do o distante de la situaci&oacute;n en la que se encuentra, cambios repentinos en los estados de &aacute;nimo: rabia, alegr&iacute;a, tristeza, angustia, etc; entabla conversaciones sobre temas sexuales o los menciona de manera constante, evita hablar de secretos que se tiene con personas de mayor edad; dibuja, escribe o pinta escenas o figuras sexuales; establece t&eacute;rminos sexuales iguales a los de un adulto en una conversaci&oacute;n; manifiesta que su cuerpo es sucio o siente aversi&oacute;n hacia el mismo; irritaciones en los genitales y en otros casos, sangrados en la misma zona, ano o boca.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">&iquest;C&oacute;mo prevenir el abuso infantil?</h4>
A mi criterio, toda la sociedad debe hacer frente a nuestras reglas heredadas que no nos permiten tener una vida sana y que ayudan directa e indirectamente a que se sigan dando los abusos sexuales, M&aacute;s all&aacute; de recetas macro (pol&iacute;ticas p&uacute;blicas: educaci&oacute;n sexual integral de la sexualidad con base cient&iacute;fica y adecuada para cada etapa evolutiva y contexto social, por ejemplo), la mayor&iacute;a puede aportar con recetas micro: hablar de sexualidad, pedir ayuda a expertos ante dudas, decir no s&eacute; sin miedo al rid&iacute;culo, hablar de la prevenci&oacute;n de los abusos sexuales, alentar y apoyar a las personas y sobre todo a los ni&ntilde;os y adolescentes a que denuncien, apoyar adecuadamente a las v&iacute;ctimas, y as&iacute;, poco a poco, en "peque&ntilde;os grupos" al menos, modificar las caracter&iacute;sticas culturales que afectan negativamente a v&iacute;ctimas de abuso sexual y colectivos de nuestro propio entorno, y tener ese pensamiento de grupo, de sociedad, de inclusi&oacute;n, en donde nuestras diferencias en realidad lo que hacen es reforzar la solidaridad, la paz y la riqueza de la naturaleza humana.
&nbsp;
Si nos protegemos entre todos, hay m&aacute;s chances de que los abusos sexuales desaparezcan de nuestra sociedad y que los ni&ntilde;os, ni&ntilde;as y adolescentes crezcan en una sociedad que les ayuda a vivir sana e integralmente.

Mito:&nbsp;El abuso infantil no es frecuente.
Verdad: S&iacute; lo es. La Organizaci&oacute;n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) nos dice que 1 de cada 5 mujeres y 1 de cada 13 hombres declararon haber sufrido abuso en la infancia.
&nbsp;
Mito: Los ni&ntilde;os y adolescentes que padecieron abuso ser&aacute;n agresores sexuales el resto de su vida. Verdad: Este mito es fuertemente estigmatizante para las v&iacute;ctimas -especialmente varones- e induce a mantener el secreto para evitar ser vistos como agresores sexuales.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
Mito: Los abusos ocurren solo en familias de escasos recursos Verdad: Ocurren en todos los estratos socioculturales.
&nbsp;
Mito: Los ni&ntilde;os mienten Verdad: Este mito indica un prejuicio de descalificaci&oacute;n e invalidaci&oacute;n de los dichos de los ni&ntilde;os.
&nbsp;
Mito: Es mejor que los ni&ntilde;os no reciban informaci&oacute;n sobre abuso sexual Verdad: Los programas educativos ayudan a que los ni&ntilde;os desarrollen habilidades para protegerse.

La homofobia detrás de las mentiras sobre el abuso infantil

Viral load refers to the amount of virus we carry in the blood. The more copies of HIV we have in our blood, the more our chances of developing aids. This amount is measured by the number of copies per milliliter of blood (copies/mL). In general, above 100,000 copies per milliliter of blood is considered high. To avoid this, the doctor gives us antiretrovirals.
&nbsp;
These drugs do not exterminate the virus but they impede its multiplication. This prevents damage to our immune system (our body defenses). Adhering to a treatment means complying with it, taking drugs as the doctor tells us to do. This is very important to achieve an undetectable viral load. If our viral load is under 40 or 50 copies per milliliter of blood it is considered undetectable. This does not mean the virus disappeared from our blood, as we said at the beginning, there is no cure yet. If you adhere, your quality of life will be better and you will not develop opportunistic diseases (aids).
&nbsp;
If we keep ourselves undetectable, chances of transmitting the virus are <a href="http://www.aidsmap.com/More-confidence-on-zero-risk-still-no-transmissions-seen-from-people-with-an-undetectable-viral-load-in-PARTNER-study/page/3072326/" target="_blank">practically zero</a>. According to <a href="https://www.preventionaccess.org/undetectable" target="_blank">Prevention Access Campaign</a>: by having an undetectable viral load for at least six months and continuing our medication (adherence), we do not put our partners at risk. Having an undetectable viral load is key to stop transmission. We must remember that by being undetectable we are not protected (and we don&rsquo;t protect our partners) of other sexually transmitted infections or unwanted pregnancies. It is very important that we openly discuss with our partners about our sexual practices, with or without condom, to take the best decision.
&nbsp;
If we don&rsquo;t live with HIV and our partner is undetectable, we can use PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and/or condom; those are strategies we can use jointly or independently. Some people want to use several preventive strategies for many reasons: reduce anxiety, prevent other STIs, unwanted pregnancies or when our partners are not constant in their treatment.

It is very important to talk with professionals, to look for the most up-to-date information and take the decision best suited to our needs, sex practices and partners. Do not be afraid of exercising our right to a full sexuality. We are getting closer to the goal of a world free from aids. Get more information about the latest technologies so we can have that future sooner.

The organization delivers a house of its own to the community without having to face anymore the difficulties of renting. Cazal addressed the land problem in Paraguay which has a heavy impact on the city where abuses by landlords are commonplace. &ldquo;All our legislation is designed to discriminate those who don&rsquo;t have the privilege of owning a piece of land and it gives green light to landlords to commit all kinds of abuse. It&rsquo;s even worse if you&rsquo;re gay, lesbian or trans, you&rsquo;re discriminate three or four times more because of your status, identity and gender expression&rdquo;, explained the executive director.
&nbsp;
In Paraguay it is usual for straight people to continue living with their families even in adulthood and this situation is not that frequent with LGBT people because many times they must leave their homes at a young age &ldquo;as a matter of survival&rdquo;, added Cazal. Thus, in the world, the uninhabited parts of the city are the places where the community socializes. That&rsquo;s the reason the center of Asuncion, which has been experiencing abandonment, is the optimal place for a Community Center. &ldquo;We need to be close to our people, because of our social function. We need to stay where our people are.&rdquo;
&nbsp;
The negative experiences in the beginnings, with buildings in terrible state, high rents, repair costs and mistreats by owners, made the acquisition of a property an institutional project faced by the highest level. The main goal of the organization became the purchase of a building located in a place highly attended by the community. &ldquo;If we want SOMOSGAY to be sustainable, we must have a house of our own and stop being subjected to the whims of a landlord. Nevertheless, we are workers. We don&rsquo;t have money to buy a house, therefore we thought of a innovating project which allowed us to buy the property&rdquo;. The strategy to reach that goal was through surplus value. &ldquo;We, workers with class conscience, only have our workforce, our surplus value.&rdquo;
&nbsp;
The managers and the executive directors set aside an important percentage of their salaries to a seed fund that grew over time. The amount was not enough to buy a house but it was for the downpayment of a property bought through leasing, a new concept in the country. With the downpayment made, the organization became co-owner of the building and after the last installment this January 2017, the LGBT Community Center&rsquo;s building is now completely owned by SOMOSGAY.
&nbsp;
<h4>A center of our own for everybody</h4>
The LGBT Community Center provides many services for the general public: it is a clinic, a leisure hub, a cyber coffee, and a gathering space decorated with graffiti. Everything is free for the general public.
The Kuimba&rsquo;e Clinic is the first of its kind in the country, dedicated to the health and wellbeing of men. Healthcare services as well as testing, counseling and psychological consultation are freely available to everybody. The clinic, supported by AHF foundation, is open from Monday to Saturdays. <h4>An oasis in the center of Asuncion</h4>
&ldquo;This fact sets a very important precedent to many people&rdquo;, said the director executive. SOMOSGAY has its first house in 2017 and the LGBT Community Center is finally anchored in the center of the city as an oasis for hope and progress that seeks to spread all over the country.

<h4>A world without aids is possible</h4>
Today, living with HIV is no hindrance to enjoy an optimal quality of life and to exercise our rights to sexuality. It is a fact that adherence to the treatment leads to undetectability of the virus. What does this mean? It means that by following the treatment, the amount of virus in the blood is so low that it cannot be measured. In this situation, when the viral load is undetectable, the virus cannot be transmitted. Therefore, by having a low amount of virus, aids cannot be developed. This doesn&rsquo;t mean there is a cure for HIV (scientists are still working on that) but current advances allow us to live with the virus as a chronic condition like diabetes.
&nbsp;
The latest technology for the prevention in people not living with HIV is pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) which consists of the daily intake of antiretrovirals to avoid contagion. Moreover, another advancement is PEP (postexposure prophylaxis), a new method used after a high risk situation and it consists of taking drugs within 72 hours and a treatment for 28 days.

<h4>Fear to pleasure</h4>
Science makes progress but our concepts around sexuality stay adamant. Controversy over bareback sex evidences all prejudices about sexuality&rsquo;s exercise. Such is the mentality that denies pleasure and enjoyment of sex as a right.
It is a fact that in developed countries bareback sex is increasing: we cannot hide it anymore. It&rsquo;s a sex practice that has always been around, it never ceased and now due to a greater availability of information, preventive technology and effective treatments, people are taking decisions consciously and freely on the exercise of their own sexuality. The key is a critic education that empowers people, not a &ldquo;formation&rdquo; that imposes or censures arbitrarily.

<h4>Some recommendations by Carlos Garc&iacute;a Le&oacute;n:</h4>
If you&rsquo;re living with HIV:
Adhere to your treatment to achieve an undetectable viral load so your chances of transmitting the virus are virtually zero.
If you&rsquo;re not living with HIV:
