SOMOSGAY is the LGBT organization with most registration numbers to the Paraguayan Government

The organization was founded on May 23rd, it was finally accepted as an x in the Registry of Legal Persons and Associations in the Judiciary of Paraguay. The writing that includes the charter of incorporation and the association bylaws registered by number 123 on sheet 1248 with the date as of July 23rd of 2009.

SOMOSGAY presents I AM GAY! MY FAMILY LOVES ME THE WAY I AM! in the Paraguayan TV

SOMOSGAY was present during the morning show "a Good morning Paraguay" in Paravision channel. The main topic discussed was the campaign against homophobia "I AM GAY! MY FAMILY LOVES ME THE WAY I AM!" I'm this space a fluid exchange took place between the audience and the activists from SOMOSGAY, along with the families.

Paraguayan government recruits a gay activist and a transgender in the public function

Simón Cazal from SOMOSGAY and the Minister at the National Emergency Secretariat, Camilo Soares, celebrated the recruitment of the first gay person and the first person with a trans identity in the public functions. It is expected that with this event, as a first step, all three powers in terms of the government, will proceed to recruit people that have been historically discriminated .

SOMOSGAY held the first Debate on Homophobia and Media in Paraguay

At Le Club Francais, SOMOSGAY organized the first talk/debate in homophobia and the media. The presenters were some of the most important journalists in Paraguay; Enrique Vargas Peña (970 AM), Germán Martinez Vierci (Radio 1000), Daniela Candia (SNT, Canal 9), y Judith María Vera (Director to the National Radio in Paraguay). The event intended to reflect in the impacts of the images and expressions spread through the media against homophobia.
