SOMOSGAY organizes the KISS-IN PARAGUAY 2010 in the International Day Against Homophobia

On Monday May 17, International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, SOMOSGAY will conduct the public "Kiss-in Paraguay 2010" where several gay, lesbian and straight couples will kiss in front of the National Congress. In this occasion a letter will be given to the senators and members of the parliament to request the fight against the violence and discriminations connected to sexual orientation or gender identity. This activity will be open to the public and all gay, lesbian and straight couples will be able to join to demonstrate with a kiss unites us and that should not be a reason for discrimination.

In an intimate and comfortable atmosphere a ceremony was held by SOMOSGAY in which it presented the summary of its main activities in the last year. Its future plans, main projects and accomplishments were also presented.

Evaluation from the PAHO on the response of the Health System to HIV in Paraguay

Simón Cazal, Derlis Viveros and Francisco Figueredo from SOMOSGAY, participated in the workshop "Evaluation for the Strengthening of the response of the Health System to HIV in Paraguay" and the socialization of the report resultant to that management on the past Thursday 22 and Friday 23 of April at the Hotel del Paraguay. The participation of this space wa possible to the invitation from UNAIDS-TG and PAHO, who were responsible of the organization of this event.

FREETEST are back at the SOMOSGAY CENTER

SOMOSGAY, through its health area, successfully carried out the first day in 2010 of Counseling and Free Testing at the SOMOSGAY CENTER. This event was possible thanks to the constant cooperation with the PRONASIDA of the Ministry of Public Health, who provided the tests and counselors necessary for this activity.

The Vice-Minister of Health congratulates the management of SOMOSGAY in Paraguay

In the frame of the public presentation of VIHVO, the specialized area of SOMOSGAY in the development of activities, services and lobby in favor of people living with HIV of the gay population, a letter was received by the Vice-Minister of Health, Dr. Edgar Gimenez Caballero, congratulating the serious efforts taken by the entity in favor of the integral health of the sector.
