SOMOSGAY congratulates the 44 MP that voted for the rejection of the homophobic project of law by the MP Lopez Chavez. Such law prohibited the entry and stay of homosexual persons in the permanent staff of the Air Force and National Police. Hence the polemic document was sent to the archives, regardless of the insistence of Jose Lopez Chavez, the presenter of the project who pretended the approval of this law. We consider the result as an clear demonstration of the advance of Paraguay toward the path of proclaimed equality since the letter of foundation as a Republic.

The historic, successful and First LGBT AND STRAIGHT EQUALITY PARADE IN PARAGUAY was carried out

The Plaza de la Democracia and the symbolic Hotel Guarani helped serve as stage, on Monday June 28 of 2010, for the realization of the historic FIRST LGBT AND STRAIGHT EQUALITY PARADE IN PARAGUAY. More than 300 citizens participated with a huge success that remembered the historic celebration since its commencement in New York City and until today. This event also made a tribute to the memory of the victims of the list of the 108, published in the times of the stronista dictatorship.
