SOMOSGAY sponsored this initiative to fulfill its objective of promoting alternative spaces of expression that propel a culture with solidarity, diverse and inclusive. Besides SOMOSGAY, this initiative was sponsored by the National Secretariat of Culture and received the support of Itaipu Binational. The search for propelling a smooth dialogue with all sectors of the society, at the time of giving visibility to this type of editorial experiences in Paraguay and great part of America, as promoters of the reading at the grassroot levels, and also as facilitators of an inclusive literary creation, within an economy with solidarity, ecology and sustainability.


The event was carried out successfully from June 8th to 10th at the Manzana de la RIvera and gathered in an exhibit of three days over 5.000 books. The event had the presence of poets, sociologists, anthropologists, plastic artists, musicians, writers all emergent to the literary scene of the Mercosur Region.
In this first education, national poets and writer participated such as Monserrat Álvarez, Marta Mondrian, Joaquín Morales, Cristino Bogado, Jorge Canese, Edgar Pou, Jazmín Rodríguez, Damián Cabrera, Mónica Laneri, Cristian Kent, Miguel Méndez, Alexis Álvarez y Borja Loma. The Toba Qom were special guests and supported the event by exposing their artisanry and performing a welcome song on the first day of the Fair.
Throughout the event were presented 6 inedit books, 4 poetry readings and performances of armed craft of books. Interactive painting sessions directed to children that attended the Fair were also available.
The participant Editorials were: from Brazil: "Yiyi Yambo" from Ponta Pora and "Katarina Cartonera" from Santa Catarina, from Uruguay: "Caracoles y Kurupies" and "La Propia Cartonera", from Bolivia: "Yerba Mala y Mandragora", from Argentina: "Eloisa Cartonera" y "Ñasaindy Cartonera", from Chile: "Cizarra Cartonera" and the host "Felicita Cartonera" from Paraguay
