The Paraguayan LGBT community now has an app for Android smartphones that can be downloaded with no cost. Equis provides all information necessary for entertainment, pleasure, health care and exercise of human rights.
The app books appointments to consult in Kuimba'e Clinic for free in the LGBT Community Center and provides all information related to prevention, testing and treatment of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). EQUIS also displays a list of hospitals and centers where HIV testing can be done and soon it will have the function of asking for a councellor's help so the user will be able to do the test at home. Moreover, the app will ask for condoms and lubes with no cost for the exercise of a full sexuality.
The app contains articles of interest for the empowerment of diversity and towards a society free from discrimination and with full enjoyment of human rights. The latest national and international events relevant to the community will be available in the app that seeks to keep LGBT people informed at all times.
The application was made in collaboration with the National HIV, AIDS, and STIs Control Program (PRONASIDA) and the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare with the support of the Global Fund, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and ViiV Healthcare through the program Positive Action.
