In June, the European Union, the Fundación Triángulo (Spain) and the Extremadura Cooperation Agency for International Development (AEXCID) will support the fifth edition of training courses for "Community Agents in Human Rights and Health", carried out by the organization SOMOSGAY in the framework of the "Araroky Tava” project.

Since 2013, SOMOSGAY and the professionals who support the program trained more than 200 young people of all ages and from all departments of the country (psychologists, lawyers, doctors, activists and students of different careers). The team of Community Agents is working with our communities to bring a different perspective of health, in order to raise awareness about sexual health and the defense of human rights.

For this call, the Community Agents program aims to train young people from the Central Department and the city of Asuncion, aged 16 onwards. This program supports the leadership of adolescents and young people as agents of social change in Paraguay. The workshops will be held on Saturdays where, together with the team of professionals and the staff of SOMOSGAY, the methodology is applied with techniques group work as a model of popular education.

The course of Community Agents focuses on four key areas:
1- mobilization by and for adolescents and young people as leaders of social change;
2- community empowerment to promote and replicate the knowledge acquired;
3- innovation in approaches that improve the scope of national services and policies for adolescents and young people, and
4- advocacy at community, national and international level.

These courses are open for all those wishing to participate in actions in favor of human rights in their communities. The deadline to fill the online form is Monday, June 15, and after that, the team of SOMOSGAY will contact applicants to confirm their participation. Remember: the course is free and certificates are delivered after the courses end.
